JUNGLES
OF ICE
Perfect conditions give rise to these rare frozen gardens. Each short
window of photo opportunity is brief: a day or two, or a few hours.
You need wind, freezing cold, waves and spray, plants and rocks, good
lighting, no snow, and no thawing... and then these extraordinary
ice formations arise. These pure moments converge maybe two or three
brief times in a winter.
Some years the ice is milky and opaque, some years it's a crystal
clear looking-glass that magnifies whatever is entombed within. Even
the changing light of day will reveal new landscapes. Enjoy.
