These twigs were exposed to water spray just long enough to grow into these bulby mushroom shapes... and then the wall behind them finally became solid ice and sheltered them from the waves and spray. They were so peaceful... some snow crystals blew on them from the other direction, stuck on and gave them patchy hair.
